H.R. Gray’s Senior Construction Manager Aaron “A.J.” Smith, PE, CCM, will be presenting not one, but TWO presentations next week at the 2018 North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) No Dig Show in Palm Springs, California.

Smith’s first presentation, “Protecting Natural Resources Via Pipe Bursting” will take place on Monday, March 26 at 11:10 a.m. This presentation will highlight the Miles Road Sanitary Sewer Replacement project and how the City of Solon, Ohio used the pipe bursting method in an effort to protect a cluster of nearby ponds and avoid the advanced shoring and dewatering costs associated with open-cut trench excavation.

On March 27 at 9:15 a.m., Smith will be presenting “Upgrading Akron’s Sewers – CIPP Lining Up to 72-inch Diameter.” In this presentation, Smith will be discussing the success of the Tallmadge-Firestone sewer lining project and how the City of Akron, Ohio explored and utilized trenchless methods, including cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, to upgrade the sewer system in a more efficient and cost-effective manner. This project involved upgrading more than 6,000 lineal feet of existing sewers ranging from 8-inch up to 72-inch-diameter.
